β€œOne thing I will die with is the truth. Your accusers don’t want you to know your worth. Own your agency. You are all that plus more!”

I am deeply humbled and honoured to share that I have been awarded the Maxable Global Excellence Award 2025 for Excellence in Arts & Cultural Advocacy for Inclusion.

This recognition is so much bigger than me. It is about every unheard voice, every silenced story, and every brave soul who believes that inclusion is not just a word β€” it is a lifeline, a promise, and a daily act of love.

I dedicate this award to my ancestors, my community, and to all the dreamers who continue to paint this world in colour, even when life tries to keep us in black and white.

Nefarious Saboteurs can lie all they want β€” the record speaks for itself. I’ve been posting since 2012. Twitter or X, receipts don’t lie. Nice try!

To everyone who has believed in me, supported me, collaborated with me, and clapped for me (even when I sing off-key β€” which, I promise you, is only about 0.5 out of 10! πŸ˜‚) β€” thank you. You are all part of this win.

🎢✨ One thing I’d say about my singing is…

Most of my performances at these events aren’t even rehearsed β€” they turn into experiences, moments of adventure, improvised around the melody and the spirit of the room.

I sing Rubato β€” I craft alternative or original arrangements. This is the kind of thing that really breathes at open mics and jam sessions, where it’s about trust and flow.

But the truth is, most musicians don’t care β€” they’re often just there to get what they need. And that’s okay. Music is my lifeline β€” so I stopped bothering about who gets it or not. Instead, I focused on my healing journey and my purpose.

When I’m ready to bring back my residencies, they’ll be rehearsed and shaped with a different approach β€” rooted in the same soul, but with the respect it deserves.

Lastly, I don’t sing the same phrase twice. As a songwriter, that’s a gift. To an unfamiliar or inexperienced musician, it can feel chaotic β€” and often the blame falls on the singer. But that’s life.

In all, I’m grateful for music β€” because I know who I am inside.

Thanks for the music. 🎹✨

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Maxable Global Excellence Awards, the University of East London, my family, friends, and everyone who stands up for true inclusion and equality in the arts and beyond

May this be a reminder that when we stand together for what’s right, we all rise. May we continue to amplify voices, break barriers, and create spaces where everyone belongs.

β€œOne thing I will die with is the truth. Your accusers don’t want you to know your worth. Own your agency. You are all that plus more!”

Here’s to more love, more light, and more inclusion for all. 🌍✨

With gratitude and hope,
