As a decendant of the Oyo Empire; it breaks my heart & spirit to uncover these facts ..’ – Aremuorin

The depths of man’s depravity seem boundless. As Genesis 6:6 poignantly conveys, even God was grieved, expressing regret for creating humanity. It’s a chilling reminder of the limitless potential for human folly, leaving one to wonder if anything has truly changed since that ancient declaration.

God’s reality is undeniable, yet it’s disturbing how these deceitful, avaricious individuals have shamelessly commercialized that truth for their own selfish gain. They’ve twisted divinity into a commodity, filling their wallets while perpetuating the very oppression they pretend to stand against, continuing the legacy of #slavery in subtle yet insidious ways. #In14Ways
After watching Aunt Viv’s testimony from *The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air* about her experiences in Hollywood, it became clear how harsh the black community can be in certain situations, especially in the entertainment industry. This mirrored something my mother told me as a child: “Self first, others last.” At the time, I thought she was being cynical, but as I reflect on it, there’s a kernel of truth in her words. While it’s not ideal to live entirely by that principle, the harsh realities of certain communities, environments, and experiences sometimes make self-preservation seem like the only path forward.
Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Viv, spoke openly about the challenges she faced, including feeling ostracized and misunderstood by her peers, which can reflect broader issues within the community itself. These experiences serve as a reminder that even within our own communities, envy, misunderstanding, and divisiveness can arise, sometimes leading to situations where survival and self-interest take precedence over collective upliftment.

Humans can indeed show a dark side, capable of great cruelty. In their relentless pursuit of self-interest or power, they might even push others to abandon their faith, forcing them to question their beliefs through acts of wickedness. It’s a reflection of how some will go to any lengths to justify or perpetuate their wrongdoing, even if it means attempting to sever someone’s connection to what is sacred or divine. Such actions reveal the depth of human depravity and the lengths to which they’ll go to manipulate others for their gain.
I’ve witnessed more compassion and integrity in animals and pets than I have in many humans. It’s a humbling reflection that often, in the simplicity of animals, we find a purer, more unconditional expression of empathy and loyalty—qualities that humans, despite their complex moral capacities, frequently fail to exhibit.

Joseph was far from the first, nor the last, to be sold into slavery out of jealousy and betrayal by his own family. His story in the Book of Genesis illustrates a recurring theme throughout history—the destructive power of envy and its ability to drive even the closest relationships to devastating actions. The betrayal Joseph experienced at the hands of his brothers, who sold him into slavery, reflects a darker aspect of human nature that has echoed throughout generations, where personal gain and jealousy lead to acts of profound betrayal and exploitation.
This cycle of envy and betrayal, tragically, has not ended with Joseph. It continues to manifest in various forms throughout history, from familial betrayals to systemic oppression. It’s a sobering reminder of the lengths to which some will go when driven by envy and the consequences that follow.
