An early MercyfulGrace archive post celebrating the individuality, humour and unmistakable voice of Macy Gray.

Macy Gray has always occupied her own space in popular music. Her voice, phrasing and personality resist imitation, which is exactly what made her such a compelling artist to write about in the early MercyfulGrace years.
Fits Like a Glove
This post began as one of my scrapbook-style music entries, built around songs, images, quotations and whatever was catching my attention at the time. I have preserved that original spirit while giving the archive a cleaner home.
He fits like a glove, always up for love.
Macy Gray
From scrapbook to archive
The old MercyfulGrace posts captured moments quickly and instinctively. Today they also form part of a longer record of my writing about Macy Gray, including our personal encounters and her continuing career.
